Takeover by Hans van Someren
Jakobs Rubber Recycling B.V. was sold to Hans van Someren and in 1998 the company thus became part of the Van Someren family.
Takeover firm H. Verhoeve
The family business took over the Tricht-based H. Verhoeve company, adding inner tubes to its range.
Takeover 3R
The company acquired 3R in Belgium, expanding its offering to include rubber granulate and cryogenic powder, for sports surfaces, insulation material and safety tiles, as well as for toll grinding, among others.
Start America
The new VS Rubber Inc. started in America as a capacity expansion to serve the North American market directly.
Relocating to Venlo
The factory in Nijnsel became too small and the family business moved to a state-of-the-art premises in Venlo and the company name changed to VS Rubber Recycling B.V. (VS now stands for ‘Van Someren’).
Takeover of Rübenach KG
The operations of Düsseldorf-based Rübenach KG were taken over and integrated in Venlo. From then on, under the name VS Rubber Products, the company also produced finished products such as rubber bands and straps from inner tubes.
Entry Christian, Robert and Linda
Hans van Someren’s children joined the company: Christian, Robert and Linda van Someren.
Acquisition of Rubberindustrie EBO
VS Rubber Recycling acquired Rubberindustrie EBO, adding to its range of new rubber and custom rubber products.
Rebranding VS Rubber companies
Since Hans van Someren’s takeover in 1998, VS Rubber has acquired and established several companies. To create recognisability and uniformity, it was decided to continue under 2 different companies. The branches in Venlo, Dilsen-Stokkem & Lebanon PA will continue under the name VS Rubber Recycling. The Geldrop branch (formerly Rubberindustrie EBO) will continue under the name VS Rubber Products.The power of a family business
The ‘VS’ in VS Rubber Recycling stands for Van Someren. Father Hans van Someren laid the foundations for the growth of VS Rubber Recycling and VS Rubber Products, which the children Christian, Robert and Linda van Someren are building on now and in the future. Linda focuses on HR, Robert on production and quality and Christian concentrates on purchase, sales and transport. The team of over 40 employees also feels part of the family, which has always remained close-knit with the great growth over all these years.
